Paolo Bartolomeo is a cognitive neurologist and Directeur de Recherche at Inserm, co-leading the PICNIC Lab at the Paris Brain Institute, Hôpital de la Pitié-Salpêtrière in Paris. His research investigates visual mental imagery, aphantasia, spatial neglect, hemispheric asymmetries, and consciousness, with a focus on white-matter disconnection and frontoparietal network dynamics. His work integrates neuroimaging, lesion studies, and connectomics to understand how distributed brain systems support and disrupt conscious experience.
