The Federation of the European Societies of Neuropsychology (FESN) was established in 2008 during its first official scientific conference in Edinburgh, marking an important milestone for European neuropsychology. Today, FESN brings together 23 societies representing thousands of professionals across Europe, with the aim of strengthening collaboration in research, clinical practice, neuroimaging, rehabilitation, and cognitive neuropsychology.

FESN provides a platform for scientific exchange and professional development through its biennial conferences, Council meetings, and educational initiatives. It also promotes dialogue across key areas of neuropsychology, including clinical and behavioural neuropsychology, neuropsychological rehabilitation, and cognitive neuroscience, supporting the connection between research and clinical practice.

In addition, FESN actively fosters international collaboration with organizations such as the International Neuropsychological Society (INS), the Sociedad Latinoamericana de Neuropsicología (SLAN), the South African Clinical Neuropsychological Association (SACNA) or the Australian Society for the Study of Brain Impairment (ASSBI). Through its summer schools for early-career researchers and clinicians, as well as its Student Liaison Committee, the Federation supports training, networking, and the inclusion of young professionals in shaping the future of the field.
